The University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest hosted the second Enhance project Summer School between 18 and 22 September 2017 with a focus on “Policy Evaluation in Agriculture”. The event gathered 23 participants (14 ladies and 9 gentlemen), of 15 nationalities: Chilean, Croatian, Dutch, German, Indian, Iranian, Italian, Lithuanian, Nepalese, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Swiss, Turkish and Vietnamese, aged between 22 and 39 years (See photos from the opening ceremony).

The lecturers have a wide background in teaching and research with impressive results in Agricultural Policy and Policy Evaluation. Dr. Dr. Habil. Stefan Mann is Head of the Socioeconomics research group at Federal Research Centre for Agriculture (AGROSCOPE), Tänikon, Switzerland and Dr. Matthias Stolze is Head of the Department of Socioeconomics, Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL), Frick, Switzerland.

They conducted the lectures by mixing their knowledge and experience, in a way that the participants had the chance to absorb all the information. The lectures were intensive, with theoretical sessions, practical works, group works, presentations and instant feedback from the lecturers. (See photos from the courses)

Whithin the ENHANCE project, in the period 20-24 November, 2017 at the Faculty of Management, Economic Engineering and Rural Development will be conducted the third courses session of the „ Economic Modeling” module, given by the partners from Germany(IAMO)- Dr. Zhanli Sun, Dr. Marten Graubner, Prof. Dr. Alfons Balmann si Franziska Appel.

In this session the participants (teachers, PhD students, master students from the Faculty of Management, Economic Engineering in Agriculture and Rural Development) will learn about: Agent-based system, Developing agent-based models, Models of agent decision making mechanism, application of ABM and Empirical applications and Simulating structural change with AgriPolis.

Whithin the ENHANCE project, in the period 25-28 September, 2017 at the Faculty of Management, Economic Engineering and Rural Development will be conducted the second courses session of the “Productivity And Efficiency Analysis In Agricultural Economics” module, given by the partners from Austria – Prof. Jochen Kantelhardt, Dr. Sebastian Lakner, Peter Walder and Katharina Schodl- BOKU and Göttingen.

In this session the participants ( teachers, PhD students, master students from the Faculty of Management, Economic Engineering in Agriculture and Rural Development) will learn about: the R programme , Efficiency analysis, Data Envelopment Analysis and Stochastic Frontier Analysis.

On November 25, 2016, the ENHANCE Project was presented to the representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and bilateral discussions took place regarding future collaboration of the Enhance Project team with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
