Gina Fîntîneru, with more than 25 years of experience in teaching, research and business consulting, related interdisciplinary issues as they connect to agriculture, rural and food economic, policy impact analysis. Her extensive experience in managing over 12 international collaborative projects will benefit this project. In her roles as research director and project leader, working with multidisciplinary teams with different ethnic backgrounds, she has gained the critical project management aptitude required for managing complex projects. Partaker in several EU, WB and national funded projects, she has also published over 40 articles in scientific journals, conference proceedings and books/ book chapters.

Stefan Mann (m), the head of the Socioeconomics research group, has a broad research profile with a frequent focus on linking sociological and economic theories and phenomena. He has prior experience in Swiss-Romanian collaboration, doing joint research on farm succession with the University of Cluj-Napoca. He has published 12 books and 180 papers, ranging from Sociologia Ruralis to the Journal of Agricultural Economics .

Prof. Dr. Thomas Herzfeld (m) is head of the Department Agricultural Policy and holds the chair of Institutions and Policies in Agriculture at the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg. He has 11 years’ experience in development economics and agricultural policy analysis. Most recently, his research focuses on the analysis of institution’s impact on agricultural producers’ and rural households’ behaviour as well as the persistence of institutions.

Prof. Jochen Kantelhardt, PhD (m) is head of Institute. He has 17 years’ experience in agricultural and agri-environmental policy analysis. His research focus is on the questions of benefits and costs of agricultural programs, the optimal combination of policy instruments and the political economy of the agricultural sector.
